Dear Parishioners,
In the month of February, our Church celebrates the Feast of the Presentation of Our Lord. The Meeting of the Lord is unique among the Great Feasts in that it combines elements of both a Great Feast of the Lord and a Great Feast of the Mother of God. Beeswax candles are blessed following the Divine Liturgy.
We also celebrate the Feast of The Three Holy Hierarchs, which is known as the feast of Orthodox theology and culture. The Three Hierarchs feast refers to Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian and John Chrysostom. They were highly influential bishops of the early church who played pivotal roles in shaping Christian theology.
In order to enrich our prayer life, we continue to serve Vespers with the Akathist Hymn every Friday evening. Adult Christian education classes follow these services. We look forward to increasing our familiarity with the Orthodox Tradition. Everyone is invited and we welcome all.
Our Church School uses an advanced curriculum with appropriate textbooks in the month of February. Our teachers and students of theology make an effort to teach our children Orthodox tradition, Serbian language, culture and heritage. I kindly ask parents to bring their children to church and to the Church School.
God willing, we will celebrate the Divine Liturgy, and hold a Memorial Service on Memorial Saturday. Let us make every effort to enrich the life of our parish. The word parish comes from the Greek word that means “instead of home” or “home that is about to come.”

Наша Црква у току фебруара месеца слави празник Сретења Господњег, који је уједно и дан државности Србије. Посебним га још чини то што обједињује празновање Господа Христа и Пресвете Богородице. Након Свете Литургије освећују се воштане свеће.
Такође славимо Света Три Јерарха, празник Православног богословља и културе. Света Три Јерарха су Св. Василије Велики, Св. Григорије Богослов и Св. Јован Златоусти. Они су били веома утицајни епископи у раној Цркви, и имали су водећу улогу у обликовању Перавославне теологије.
Како бисмо обогатили наш молитвени живот, настављамо да служимо вечерња са акатистима сваког петка. Веронаука за одрасле се одржава након ових служби. Намаера нам је да се боље упознамо са Православним Предањем. Сви су позвани и добродошли.
Црквена школа у фебруару се наставља са унапређеним програмом и новим уџбеницима. Наши наставници и студенти теологије улажу велики напор да деца боље упознају Православље, српски језик и културу, и да се укључе у богослужења. Молим све родитеље да своју децу редовно доводе у цркву и Црквену школу.
Боже здравља, на задушнице ћемо да служимо Свету Литургију и да обавимо парастос. Настојмо да на сваки начин унапредимо живот наше парохије. Реч парохија води порекло од грчке речи, која значи замена за дом, односно кућа која долази.
